2010 5-Cent Coin Mintage Remains At Zero

TheForce Pillar of the Community United States 4870 Posts	Posted 04/12/2010 09:37 am According to the new issue of Coin World Magazine, 2010 nickel production year to date remains at ZERO at both mints. The Feds say there is a sufficiet quantity of nickels already in circulation. Couldn't one say there is sufficient cents in circulation as well? Is this the end of the nickel as we know it? Will the only nickels be issued in sets? Does anyone really have the answer to these questions? Report this Post to the Staff

afcop13 Pillar of the Community United States 1409 Posts	Posted 04/12/2010 12:13 pm I guess no one knows, but I have to believe they'll kick out a few million from each mint at some point. In the last box of nickels I searched, I found several 2009P's - finally. Still no D's down here in FL. It will be something to watch though, as it could provide a modern collectible in the Jefferson series that is not overproduced. Report this Post to the Staff

I do think the nickels and dimes will see some mintage numbers this year though, probably by late summer/early fall. Report this Post to the Staff
