The "dublin head" penny looks plastic to me.

I'm more impressed with the dublin fingerprints all over the coin.

What about that $275,000 error. It's an interesting piece (not at $275K, of course), but what kind of error is that?

the Dublin coin is obviously fake, impossible and too thick at the rim--machined?
The $275K error looks like a real strike on a bronze planchet fragment? Maybe Mike Diamond has an idea.

That's what I think of when I hear "error coin," none of these tiny little scratches, or extra little bumps in a design. To me, those things are just natural imperfections in the minting process, not "errors." A penny being struck off center or a coin with the reverse of a different denomination, that's a true "error."

I'm thinking the 275K coin was struck off center on a planchet with a straight clip. I saw a similar coin on ebay except this one looks like it was struck off center on a planchet with a curved clip:

The 275K coin is certainly a cool looking error, but for 275K I think I can live without it!

Must be an irish lincoln if it came from Dublin.
Knock off 5 zeros on the other coin and it might sell.

Here's a new one:
2005 Lincoln Memorial Tone Strike Error"
You can tell it's a an error by the manifesto written on the 2x2.
For $25K, I'll do up a whole bank box like that one.

I've had many questions about this error. That I can just clean it and it'll be like new...I cleaned it and still is light black. So this is one awesome error to have to own!
