Can anone identify this I have a few of them but this is the only one I can make the date out on. Its verry faint but I can make out 1804. It has a wierd milling on the edge, sort of milled in a groove in the centre of the edge.

English penny or half-penny, or ... give us a diameter, please. The famous "cartwheel" series came out 1797~99. Then, there was another series: thinner & lighter, in 1806~07, which had a daggy effigy, very much like the one in your coin. I'll have to look up my Big Book of British Coins to see what other coppers were minted around 1804 ...

Torres might be right. Every time I see that effigy, I suspect that it was sculpted when the unfortunate old man was particularly affected by his illness. Apparently, nowadays, he'd be prescribed a pill each day, and he'd be fine. Thank heavens for advances in medicine !

I have been working on this 1807 Type set for some time, I found a decent Penny (will share Pics) but have yet to find a decent 1/2 Penny of farthing at a reasonable price (everyone wants top dollar these days). **Excuse the dust** Even the worn out ones (and Damaged) are way cool though, I save them all.
