Un-Identified Coin/Token/Medal Pls Help

des prout New Member United States 6 Posts	Posted 05/01/2011 08:03 am I recently found an item that resembles a coin/token or even a medal. The item has no head of state, or Provence on it. It has no date or value also. However the item does contain a picture of an eagle surrounded by 29 stars. The eagle is very similar to the American seal. It also has a weight of 10.3g and I am sure it's gold. This item was found by a busy British port of Devonport Plymouth and was placed within a stone wall which I am restoring threw my work. The wall itself was constructed between 1840-1850. I think this date my be relevant due to the 29 stars that surround the eagle, as 29 stars was upon the American flag between 1840-1850 for a short time representing 29 states. Any help to identify this token coin ? Is very welcomed. Report this Post to the Staff
