Hello all

Can you help to put some details into this. I aquired this a couple of days ago and cannot correctly identify. This isn't my normal field so would be grateful if the experts here can help.

It weighs 130 grams and is 60mm diameter. It is one of a set of medallions designed by Gianfransesco Enzola to commemorate Constanzo Sforza, Lord of Pesaro, Italy and has the date 1474 (MCCCCLXXIIII) inscribed. It seems also to be signed (in the close up photo) "LORIOLI".

I'm assuming this is a much later copy but cannot find anything more.

Gorgeous. I'm just getting into art medals, so I can't help, but I hope you find out.

I've found a bit more detail. Apparently A.E. Lorioli Fratelli or Lorioli Medaglie specialised in the reproduction of religious medallions during the 50s and 60s. Their website no longer exists so it's difficult to find any more details other than the military type medals or scooter badges that they produced.

Still a very nice medallion in the hand though. Must not start a new hobby, must not start a new hobby, must not start a new hobby. Yeah right.
