Repl Notes With Little Demand - Should I Keep Them Anyway?

Altaira Pillar of the Community Canada 2529 Posts	Posted 07/10/2014 08:20 am I occasionally find X prefix banknotes (the X in front means it's a replacement note) in my wallet. They are in bad condition like the majority of Indonesian notes. I don't see much demand for them. We put a star after the serial number if it is a replacement for a destroyed bill. I keep any and all star notes, as long as I can afford it. They get sorted and put in my "savings" box. I figure one day I may be able to sell them as a lot for a premium and go on vacation. If not, I still have face value savings. I do the same with $2 bills, but that is designated as our Disneyworld savings fund! Report this Post to the Staff

I think this might be to stop people picking them out of circulation very easily. In fact I've never seen a crisp X note, all of the ones I've seen must have been passed around in the wet market a few times. I guess I will put them separate when I find one in my wallet when I get home if they aren't too bad, but if I need to spend them then I'll spend them. Report this Post to the Staff
