Sorry, Gussyboy, but I need a much larger picture to have any hope of identifying the "stuff" on your coin. Can you get closer?

I agree need a better photo or a complete discription such as color of contamination, crusty looking, bumpy, etc. If possible one good photo is worth a million explanations.

Ewww... I think I know what this stuff is. I have it on one of my coins. And nothing I've tried short of a blow torch takes it off.
Electrolysis is the only thing that worked for me, but expect a lot of corrosion underneath.
Still would like a much better picture though.

(Okay, forum dad may have to help me with this-thanks! I still don't have the knack of doing this with the pictures. I promise I will catch on! )
Anyway, here is a better photo of the krud--BTW, it does look like Hersey syrup, but it's not. It's smooth--almost like paint?

I don't know...that almost looks like very old, dried paint? But paint should have worn off. Interesting.
