It's just a damaged coin. Somebody cut into it with something, maybe wire cutters. Just worth a nickle, sorry. But keep looking, there's lots of real errors and varieties to find out there, and this is a great place to learn.

There are infinite ways in which someone or something can damage a coin and this is the place to determine if it's a Mint error or intentional damage from someone with too much free time.
