I was bidding on several group lots recently when I got distracted by quite a few handsome Valerian and Gallienus bronzes
When I read through the descriptions I noticed the consigner was someone I once used to buy many nice coins from
Very impulsively I thought it would be a nice gesture to throw a couple of late bids in ....
To say I was shocked to see I won 3 out of 5 is an understatement
I messaged 'Eric' that morning to tell him what had happened and .... apologize
He wasn't thrilled with the prices realized but he did say he was glad to know that at least they were going to a good home
Prices of late have seemed astronomical
But sometimes you just never know
