I have some 1988 Canadian 100 dollar bills laying around. Many seem to be in very good condition(sharp corners, no waves etc). I'm interested to know if they are worth something also? Edited by mularookie 05/15/2022 10:33 am

The AJX looks like a unc replacement note, depending on grade 300.00 and up, the rest unless really high grades, not worth much more than face, and welcome !

This is why you should always post pictures of both sides of any coins or currency. Without the reverse nobody would have known you had a replacement note.

Just to clarify, the AJX means it is a replacement note? And if so are there any other combinations I should look for? I do not have any low number notes unfortunately.

We need pics of both sides of all notes. The BJF note is pretty much a face value note. The BJH note is a changeover and we can't estimate value without seeing the other side. The AJX replacement appears to have a stain and a counting flick, if it is the clear BPN variety worth about $150, hidden BPN variety would be closer to $300

I take pictures this coming week when I have some more time. On closer inspection many are circulated and have fold in then it seems so not much value in them probably. Here is list of the notes serials: AJN2622890 AJP7175494 AJR6549661 AJS5803823 AJS9090947 AJT3343244 AJT3694518 AJT7430472 AJT8050759 AJU6870038 AJU8031267 AJV0353624 AJV0548678 AJV0968955 AJV7427348 AJV7767872 AJW3282443 AJW7878696 AJW8954005 AJX1184114 AJX2320019 AJY0163249 AJY3700169 AJY5516708 AJY6279178 AJY8448580 AJY9035586 AJZ1067934 AJZ3284285 BJA1137163 BJA1772693 BJA2293499 BJA6176784 BJA6255273 BJA6486284 BJA9285018 BJB3629458 BJB6929510 BJB7033002 BJC1224775 BJD0344172 BJD3543713 BJD5832577 BJE2645724 BJE5580935 BJE9919975 BJF3806970 BJF9813551 BJG1648626 BJG1741471 BJG1786860 BJG2062461 BJG4623725 BJH6536443 BJH9014520 BJI3247098 BJI4567508 BJI4567510 BJI4567511 BJI4567512 BJI4567513 BJI4826957 BJI6370228 BJI7541075 BJI7978519 BJI7999013 BJI9656487 BJI9659014 BJJ6765791 BJJ8112399 BJJ8830633 BJJ9559405 BJL0198001 BJN1392625 BJP1147295 BJR1132784 BJR5590411 BJR6145583 BJS1842922 BJS3264659

There is nothing special about the last list of prefixes. If as you say the are circulated and have creases, then they are worth $100.00 CDN. No pictures are necessary It looks like the only winner you have is the replacement note. All replacement notes have the letter "X" as the third letter of the prefix.
Just noticed, you do have a three digit radar note BJG1741471 that would have a bit of a premium depending on condition

The following prefixes are of interest; AJZ- there are two different varieties, one of which is valuable AJX- replacement with two different varieties BJH,BJI,BJR, and BJT- changeover notes, some premium, amount depends on which side of the change they occur and of course condition All other prefixes are face value. The AJX replacement notes were discontinued in the 90's and "insert" replacements were used instead.

to CCF! As earlier posters indicated, the better your pictures, the more we can help. Many Canadians have hoarded these $100 notes so the value is entirely dependent on the note's condition. The AJX replacement looks promising. You could also keep all prefixes from AJN - AJY. These notes all have the Hidden Back Position Number or (H) BPN. If you look at the highlighted area with CANADA in the background, you will notice that there is a small space between the C & A. Right below that space are a number of reeds in the water and a small blank square will appear with a tiny number. If you look at BJF & other BJ_ notes you should see a "clear" square which are more noticeable with a magnifying glass. The printers modified the backplates so these numbers would be easier to see. They should be nearly impossible to see on the AJN- AJY & the best (nearly perfect) notes would be the ones to keep. Now take a look at the AJX & AJZ to see if the square is missing & the number seems to blend in with the background design (reeds & waterlines). That is what is meant by a Hidden (H) Back Position Number BPN & are the most sought after. You should also check your BJH note to see if it is "clear" or Hidden BPN. In the case of the BJH you want a clear BPN since fewer were produced. Besides the BJG radar, the two BJI9656487 & BJI9659014 may be worth keeping since they're the short end of the change-over with the Knight-Thiessen signatures & there may be collectors who want those.
