German WWII Uncut Sheet of Food Ration Stamps dated for use during the period of
Jan. 8th through Feb 4th of 1945. These stamps were issued for a child from 6 to10 years of age in the German City of Geldern. The stamps were for many different types of food by gram weight. Among the listed food items are; milk bread, butter, marmalade, artificial honey, ersatz coffee, meat which I assume means beef or horse because there are also stamps for pork and pork fat. By this late in the war I would imagine that these stamps were more like promises with no guarantees. Color; black on pinkish orange. Size 6.75 inches wide by 6 inches tall. Back is plain.

As far as I know it has two things going for it; first it has been in my collection for forty plus years. Second the paper is water marked. If you know more please share it with us.

The US had their own ration coupons during the war, but those German coupons were much more practical, with all the basic necessities on a single sheet.

Greg, I also have a US ration coupon booklet from WWII. Not sure if all the pages are there.

My grandparents told stories of rationing during WWII. A necessary one was rubber, which led to everyone driving on "maypop" tires. Others however did not seem (in their opinion) to make much sense - sugar, for example.
