Greetings fellow members. I came across a new find today on the 2022 $1 Mob of Roo with 'Cud' on the Big Kangaroo foreleg. Wonder if anyone came across this as well.
Under Natural light and different angles.
I also have a 2015 $1 Mob of Roo with this 'Cud' variety and included here for reference.
John1 and Errers, you can blame a certain now-deceased variety and error "expert" here in Australia for the confusion. He unilaterally rewrote the whole error/variety vocabulary, back when he was the only person writing in the only coin magazine in the country about errors and varieties back in the 1990s and 2000s.
So yes, Australians call all die chips " Cuds". I think it's too late to change it now, so you might as well just get used to it. Be thankful we've managed to stop people calling them "CUDs", as if "CUD" was some kind of acronym.
Don't say "infinitely" when you mean "very"; otherwise, you'll have no word left when you want to talk about something really infinite. - C. S. Lewis
