This weekend I spotted an interesting U.S. vintage silver coin on ebay. However, it would be shipped from Canada. Are there any weird restrictions or required paperwork to buy such a coin and have it shipped back into the United States?q

Have the seller mark the coin as "bullion" that way its not seen as a taxable item at customs. But now thinking about it, since it's a u.s. coin I don't see how canada could tax a foreign coin.

Pretty easy stuff!
A coin sent to the US from Canada happens all
the time. Anything under 800 USD is tax duty free.
Under 801 to under 2500 also tax duty free just requires
a different entry form .
Also don't try funny stuff , like asking a seller
to represent something other than what is in the
package . That is a violation of both Canadian and
US customs laws and could result in fines or worse .
When dealing with CBP OR CBSA just tell the truth.

Ok, thanks for the info. So I can just buy (for example) a silver Washington quarter on ebay from a Canadian seller, have it shipped to the U.S., and there is no paperwork required? That's what I expected, but lately it seems like government at all levels has become somewhat Byzantine.
