Quote: The Mint sure isn't bashful with the prices for their new offerings And with their old offerings too! I picked up the Royal Canadian Legion - Fine Silver Proof Dollar in December/January for $165. It's now listed at $210. I also picked up the Gleaming Maple Leaves - 1/2 oz. for $115. it's now listed at $140. Seems the mint is now pricing their silver offerings at about twice bullion value! If silver tanks do you think the Mint will be inclined to drop their prices ?

Quote: If silver tanks do you think the Mint will be inclined to drop their prices ? If the silver spot price drops $10, it's not likley the Mint will reduce prices. If, on the other hand, we see a drop of $50 or $60 in the spot price - and it remains at such level for a prolonged period - I think the Mint will adjust prices.

What do you think the Mint would consider a "prolonged period" - 2 , 3, 4 months ? And how much do you think they might reduce prices ? Or are we going to get the same old line that the oil companies use - - crude goes up so we have to adjust prices to that level - crude goes down but we have to use up our higher-priced inventory first I'm not holding my breath for any price adjustments any time soon, unless silver starts to climb again. And like I said in a previous post, the days of my NCLT collecting are coming to an end.

Quote: The Mint sure isn't bashful with the prices for their new offerings Glad I ordered through the Post Office web site early January: Fine Silver Proof Dollar - 100Th Anniversary of The Royal Canadian Legion: $139.95 at the Post Office vs. $ 164.95 $209.95 CAD at the RCM . You can still order the Fine Silver set there at $369.95 vs $469.95 CAD at RCM....

No they sure aren't... all the politicians including the PM just had their latest pay increases kick in, and the Governor General just got a $16000 pay bump too, for flying around the country and world with a "taxpayer's no-limit credit card", so the RCM needs to make some of it back for the government,

Several new offerings have been added over the last week or so.
As would be expected, Issue Prices remain strong.

The mint seemed to have priced their coins for this month using the peak silver prices a few weeks ago. Silver has gone down $50 recently. I wonder if they will lower the prices. I am not holding my breath.
