PCGS - As the Age of Pirates faded in the Caribbean, European powers engaged in a struggle for New World trade dominance. France trumpeted its economic authority in the Windward Islands by issuing coinage specifically for the region, including this PCGS MS64 1731-H 12 Sols. Only two examples grade better than this one, which exhibits gorgeous tones.

Wow, what a beauty! With only two denominations minted for only 2 years, acquiring one of these will not be easy.
Inordinately fascinated by bits of metal with strange markings and figures

I have one for my OFEC collection, bought it years ago from a now-retired dealer who specialized in Latin America and Caribbean (which is an odd specialization for an Australian dealer), it's nice but nowhere near as nice as this one (maybe Fine or so).
