the planchets used for these early draped busts were shipped across the Atlantic in wooden barrels. the salt air and humidity was not kind to a good amount of them. strike was always a problem and some of what you see here is related to that.
there is a small hit by the ear that has displaced metal along with some rim hits on both sides along with corrosion on both sides. the hair has some decent detail in it as well as ONE CENTS and many of the leaves. I think your dads coin would grade VG (details) corroded/ PMD
