Hi everyone,
I'm hoping someone can help identify this Chinese Bagua (Eight Trigrams?) charm.
It has an octagonal shape and appears to be cast rather than stamped. It is non-magnetic and appears to be made of brass or bronze.
I don't know its history—it came from an old collection, so I have no provenance.
Size is approximately the same as a U.S. quarter (photos included for comparison). It appears to be about 3 mm thick.
I'm trying to determine:
* Is this a modern feng shui reproduction or an older Chinese charm?
* Does this design correspond to a known type or period?
* Is there anything about the casting, patina, or edge that helps date it?
* If authentic, what would be a reasonable value?
Any information would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
