1881-S Morgan Dollar:

I'm bringing this 1881-S Morgan dollar coin to a coin show tomorrow to sell on behalf of my aunt. (I am her POA.) I have no prior experience with collectible coins. I figure that having multiple dealers to sell to in one place ensures that I can find at least one willing to give me a good price for it.

How can I determine the condition of this coin? It's sealed up in plastic, so I cannot tell which flaws are the coin's flaws and which ones are the flaws in the packaging.

I know from the figures in Numista (https://en.numista.com/1492) that there are 12.76 million examples of 1881-S Morgan dollars out there, so this is NOT the Hope Diamond or the Holy Grail.

According to the Numista price guide (https://en.numista.com/catalogue/en...p?id=28653), this coin would be worth $66,000 in MS69 condition but is worth much, much less money in any lesser condition. It's worth $6,000 (over 90% less) in MS68 condition, $950 (over 98.5% less) in MS67 condition, and less than $100 in anything less than MS62 condition.

I'm guessing that I'm more likely to hit the jackpot in Atlantic City than I am to get $66,000 for this coin. (And I've never been to Atlantic City and have no plans to go there.) Do I have any chance of getting a 3-digit sum for it?
