I have been searching some half dollar boxes and I'm finding lots of 2024 P BU Kennedys and a few 2024 D. The 2026 and 2027 Red Book list those as NIFCs, even though the combined mintage for 2024 P&D is over 37 million. That's 10 X the mintage of most NIFCs. I can't imagine they sold that many to collectors. I thought it might be a mis-print in the 2026 Red Book, but it's there again in the 2027 Red Book. Am I missing something?

Maybe I should roll them up. Littleton is selling them for about $50 a roll. I'd love to sell them a bunch at $25!

Because of low demand, no Half Dollars were struck for general circulation in 1987 and again from 2002 to 2020. During this period the coin could be found in mint sets or purchased from the Mint in rolls and bags, at a premium above face value. Starting in 2021, the Federal Reserve resumed ordering these coins for general circulation.
