The style of bust is wrong. The star configuration is wrong. The Pluribus Unum doesn't belong. Neither does the 50 C. Not for an 1838 half, anyway. The digits for the date are off and it even has the edge with lettering and horizontal lines which was supposed to have ended in 1836. About the only thing that is right here is the mass: 13.26g and the diameter: roughly 32 mm.

What does everyone think?

Contemporary counterfeit.
I've seen that nose and the wrong reverse somewhere, can't recall where.

Thanks, Arrows and Rays. So you're saying this is a known counterfeit, that there are others? If you remember where you have seen it before, would love to hear again from you. Thanks!
