Anyone have an idea what this is? I bought something else, but the seller sent me this. He has no idea what happened to the one I bought. I do not have this already, so I will probably keep it, but it would be nice to see what it is and what it is worth. Thankfully, I did not pay very much for it.

It weighs just under 4 grams.

Don't have my books handy, but I'm thinking try French India.

It would appear this is a doudou from French India, minted 1720-1835. Mystery solved!

Problem with these coins care , there are so many counterfeits in ebay , some of them are sold dead cheap...

do you see any sign of my coin being a counterfeit? Or can you say how I can find out if it is genuine or not? The weight was off by quite a bit, it weighs 3,79 grams, but with these older Indians that is - in my experience - quite common.
