First step is authentication, there are lots of fakes. I'm sure there are a few experts on these, they tend to be on line in the evening EDT.

It is not genuine, I'm afraid. It's a replica of a very scarce Chinese pattern coin, the "dragon tael" from Kwangtung Province. Most provinces of China never issued taels for circulation. See This example of a fake on zeno.ru.

It's so unfortunate that it's a fake.
I'm going to go out on a limb here and assume fakes aren't really worth anything?
