My favourite byzantine coin. I found it with metal detector. Angel on obv. and Christ on rev.

Nice coin. Odd shape. I know next to nothing about Byzantine coins, but is the shape of this coin common for this era of coin?

This coin is cutted because it is period of inflation. Coins were cutted and from remains they made new coins.

nice coin and good find! I have a couple not so nice and more common where you can barely see one side on that came in uncleaned lots.

That is an exceptionally well detailed coin of the type but from a period that I can not attribute. What are you calling it?

This coins are little known. But also they are very interesting. There are bronze, silver and gold byzantine coins. Bronze coins have weak patina and you can damage patina only by putting coin in water. I had luck with this one.
