@svc067 Both the reverse for the 1916 and the 1917 have no stars on the reverse below the eagle. But here's how you distinguish the two for the obverse. I usually just check to see no stars on the reverse at the bottom and flip a dateless one over to the obverse to check and see if the top of the head is just a smidge into the rim.

Thanks you @ svc067, BLB49, CoinForMe, Errers and Varietys, Jbuck, and seamonkey5150. It's a toned set seamonkey. I started it 12 - 13 years ago. I'm missing 4 toners and 1918/7 s. I don't consider that part of the date set but I do intend to get one of those one day; however doubtful toned. I also knew the odds of getting an affordable straight graded toned 1916 was slim to none. So, I thought it was time to fill the 1916 hole without breaking the bank.
