Thanks! A good article. I was making a list of the number minted of each type and this helped to complete it. If this is an example of selling (Smokey Mountain NP) I bet the others may even go quicker especially if some cannot get them if they waited, like was in previous yrs. I wonder if the total has been minted? I would say yes and that could have been based on the number of subscriptions made.

angel - I have thought all along that the subscription discount would be a good thing for these coins and the mint in general. Based on the subscriptions the mint will know how strong the offering is received, and can do a single pressing of the coins and move on. Since there were 21k sold in the first week, I'd say the mint did press all 25k. Makes it a simple process for them - and saves them setup time to do a 2nd pressing. If they get subscriptions close to 25k - I can see them raising the mintage to 30k as well. That still is not a large total, and they can do another single run and move on to the next in line.

Southern, I see what seems to be an imperfection 12 o'clock, right above the second half of the Y on that puck. How is the edge? Because my puck's edge wasn't great with little dents and problems but I'm still keeping it because I don't cherry pick and even just in original gov packaging with only 25000 of these ever made I know they'll be worth more than I paid for ‘em in the future.

I'm definitely keeping mine. I actually ordered a few more but might have to cancel them, depending on when they actually ship. (Scheduled for 5 May). Not really sure if this high demand (for pucks) is a good or bad indicator for future value. I.E> does everyone who wants one already have one or will there be a higher demand. . . time will tell I guess. Either way this is the first one I got from the mint & is the beginning of my collection. Hope to get them all eventually.

22.841 is the count as per the 20th sold on the USMint site. Now they say May 7, 2014 for the next date avail to ship.

Just wondering if anyone received that bag from the mint with the coins?

angel - no bags for the subscriptions apparently. Perhaps it is because we subscribed before the bags? I don't know - but then again - I have enough of the bags already.

New numbers on the P puck...... 2014-P Great Smoky Mountains 22,841 sold so far, 1,426 sold last week. 2,159 left......shouldn't be long before a sell out, I'm kind of surprised they didn't sell out already. Maybe the temporary sell out of the bullion might increase sales this week?

Maybe. But the next coin is only about 3 weeks away. Those counts will surely show if all our ideas on why quick sell are true.

Shenandoah bullion listed today at APMEX for 5-15 delivery. Same day as the uncirculated vapor blasted version. Arches is four weeks after, so the calendar is moving speedily along.

I'm very high on the bullion version of these coins. I started collecting last year and am now caught up with the exception of 4 (2010 Mount Hood, 2012s Acadia, Hawaii, Denali). Prices will have to come down for me to pick those up.
