I know. Won't be buying anything costing so much over spot. And I like the Everglades coin.

Then buy the bullion version....less than $100 and still looks cool

An hr. away and silver still under 16. Can't imagine them selling too many today. Hopefully this doesn't cause a reason for these to stop being minted. If the mint doesn't lower its price, I can't see many being sold at this point. The title of the thread may again reflect a true possibility.

Foxwoods I realize the bullion is much less costly, however, I just have been collecting the P version so I really would like that coin. But at almost 10 times spot, way too costly for me. (reminds me kind of what it was like when these first were minted at a 279 cost)

No, waiting to see if any price drop. Others have said that is what they will do as well. Did you buy today?

I dropped my subscription from 3 to only one and I got the email confim today.

The mintage limit is still at 30k but, with the price so high, no way will they get near that number

Not me, I dropped the subscription for the pucks, waiting to see if silver goes under $15 oz, as of this writing its at $15.35. I'd be surprised if Everglades sells more than 10K come Monday or Tuesday when the next sales report comes out. $154.95 for $77.45 worth of silver is exactly a 100% premium over metal content. Even the scarcest coin of the group, Hawaii, launched with over 9K sold and took more than 3 1/2 months to sell out. The loss of the discount is going to hurt the sales number for this release. I'm looking to bundle this coin with the upcoming Marshals and MOD commemorative releases in late January if it holds out that long. Nevertheless I'll keep an eye out on the sales number on when to buy. The Mint has been known to cut short a mintage, Hawaii was slated to get to a max of 25,000, they ended sales early in January '13 and didn't bother minting the last 10K, so anythng is possible with the last releases of the year.

FYI Great Sand Dunes might be the low mintage bullion sleeper puck of the year, if Everglades bullion is minted again for sale to the APs. All 22K available sold out on the first day of sales this past Monday. There are silver bugs out there!

I am still pondering when is the good time to pull the trigger on the bullion puck, while silver spot price keep on dripping lower..... waiting too long and the AP will sold out their allotment which would increase premium (like the Arch); while buying early, I may risk paying more for them.

Decision, decision, decision.....

Doesn't the bullion have a set premium? I thought it did. I just wish the price would be adjusted lower on the P version. It has in the past, hopefully the mint will or none of these for gifts. I am grateful that they did have the 10% off. While I wasn't so crazy about the Sand Dunes, I did get them with the discount and have them for Christmas.

Did the physical market just scream, "No Mas"? Oh to be a fly on the wall at the US Mint.
This morning, one of the largest dealers in the United States indicated silver eagle supplies were fine with over 2 million ounces in inventory. Just a couple of hours later and following Wednesday's price smash, the US Mint announced a temporary suspension of sales.
This dealer is now suggesting contracts are going to have to be re-worked.
That's unprecedented.

It's too early to tell but it appears the US Mint was caught totally off-guard. They appear to have been operating on the assumption that declining prices wouldn't generate a large burst in US demand. For a period of time, it looked like they might have been proven correct. No more. Over 2 million eagles flew out of the mint today in just a couple of hours â€" the fastest sales rate ever.

I just ordered the 5 Oz Everglades coin, the only one I have bought in this series. LOVE the birds on the coin...no one said they were out of stock when I called.

I really doubt that the Everglades P version would sell out at $81 over spot. Yes, they will stop selling them before reaching the 30k max but that will take a decent period of slow sales before that happens.

The bullion version is another story. At $97 vs. $159.95 they will be gone VERY soon.
