I wonder as well. Why put a artificial amt and then not mint all of it? Makes some wait for a while to buy them and miss out

I agree that 20k seems to be about the new max. They dont really seem interested in trying to extend them to their max mintage.

It appears theyre just guessing at demand and once the run of making it is done its done and they move onto the next one.

I think the late start added to the reason these ended early as well. The schedule only allows for making so many diferent coins - on the single press they are using. They just released the FM coin and still have to do the bullion and mint release of the Mt. Rushmore this year.

IF they start them early next year the numbers could go back up to 25k easily.

With the price in the $150 range - I'll continue buying these to the end.

Could be the Mint is already gearing up for 2014. I think the proof presses in San Francisco are already off and running on the silver proof quarters, it was the first 2012 and 2013 annual product and appears mid-January. So the quarter designs for next year have more than likely been chosen and preparations for the 5oz '14s are probably well underway. The Mint indicated there will only be 30,000 each of the bullion Perry, Great Basin and Fort McHenry and those are all a couple of thousand from sell out. Probably all of the Rushmore bullion (35,000) and uncirculated (20,000+?) have at least been struck and are out of the way.

Crossing my fingers that we'll see the 2014 pucks earlier than May next year.

You can get the bullion version for about $130 each, I would get them all now if you want them. Playing the waiting game, hoping they drop $5 will most likely end up with you missing out on this years bullion set. I have all 4 of the bullion coins from this year and look forward to completing this years set. I am a bullion fan of these coins though, as I have almost every coin so far and only 2 are the P version.

Imo the Perry coin is my least favorite of the year and prob in the bottom 3 of all the pucks to come out. There is just not a lot going on for that coin. But if you are trying to compete the set it is a coin you will need. Hopefully is will stay in stock until you can get it. If not I saw Silvertowne is currently having a sale on the graded coins from this year and somefrom 2010 and '11.

I've been thinking about this last coin. I have had a sour feeling fOr what the NPS did during the shutdown and I was a diehard National park fan. That was part of my draw to these coins-having visited so many of the parks. I do want the Mt rushmore coin but just a bad feeling as how people were treated by the NpS employees esp the WWII memorial which really is just an open air area.

And besides that the NPS had no control over the shutdown. I'm sure they would have been working had they been allowed. Every one is totally entitled to their own opinion and believe though so if you dont buy any more ATB coins that is entirely up to you. I personally would not blame the NP workers were not to blame for any part of the shutdown.
