And now, of course, it's all heading back down...

Up, down, sideways... it's all good. Like a lot of other things that we could invest our money in, PMs do have a lot of price movement to them. I'm just happy to have the ounces that I do and I do not worry too much about the short-term price fluctuations. They're gonna happen, guys and gals, so just ride 'em out and buy physical metal from time to time.

This is what sounds good when it is moving up. 5,000 oz of silver with a $1.00 move is $5,000.
Yeah is doesn't sound so good when it goes down.

The good news is,today's move up was with a strong dollar rally.Looks like it may get interesting for the next few days. Jim Cramer just said again today, gold is acting like another currency, not like a commodity!

Agreed. Not that there is a lot we can do about it, though. It's the same in the stock market. Investors love a good day when their paper profits are rising, even though they have not gained anything if they did not sell and realize the profit. I guess we can all chalk it up to human nature.

In many ways, gold and silver ARE currencies. They just don't have a lot of fiat baggage tied to them. Gold owners don't have to worry about interest rates, currency exchange rates, bond prices, swaps, defaults, counter-parties, and a lot of other gunk our financial system seems to have collected over the past couple of decades. Just pure sweet metal, folks... that's all... and that's enough!

Thanks, Trout. Yeah, it can be... or, it can be terrifying sometimes too... like when we get a 400-500 point drop in the Dow in 1 day.

Gold and silver both appear to be holding their own considering everyone was on the bandwagon for the big crash for both.
