LOL I do enjoy history, Civil War era especially

Great token pickup, and along with the bottle and news article. That really adds to the token. Looks like it is a NY630BU-1a, I think.

I really enjoy CW history too. It is definitely one of the most interesting times in US history

You are correct on the attribution. After I bought the token I looked on-line for more about S Steinfeld and that is what I found. I checked on the availability of a bottle... but buying one is WAY out of my financial boundaries as they are quite rare... and expensive

First real store card and it is from Michigan. Went to the national rep coin store in the Detroit area Abbotts. Picked this one up and a couple others that I will post in my LCS thread.

Thanks not bad for $5.00 the guy said because it was over 100 years old. He did say he was new to the business!

$5.00 for an R5 is a deal! Only 76-200 estimated to exist.

Finally found an addition to my Michigan town/city collection of store cards. The corrosion indicates that this token was most likely a ground find but being a single merchant town, with three varieties, all varieties are R-8. The town rarity is a 8-, so I was glad to pick this up at a very reasonable price for an R-8.

Penny Guy,

Congrats on the pick-up. I assume this one the one that you said you had a lead on? Guess you can cross yet another off your list

Dave
The one I had a lead on turned into two, an XF40 at over $3K, and a Poor/Corroded for over $800. So I passed on those. This R8 was just a tad over $100, so that decision was easy. Eight holes to fill.

Yeah, unless you're made out of $$$, $100.00 seems like the best buy of the 3... Funny, every time I see a MI token on E-Bay now, I check to see if it's one you're looking for. Now I'm obsessed over someone else's tokens. Jeez...
