Once a die is chipped, every coin struck on it will have that same chip in the same location. If they catch the problem, even on the first striking, it's apparently a weak point on the die, likely to happen on other strikes from similar dies. LWC tend to get BIE chips on LIBERTY, 1960 Jeffersons get "Morse code" chips between the rim, LIBERTY and the date. Report this Post to the Staff
