Hi Mr. Keach, remember me? I bought a bunch of Proof sets and Uncirculated sets off of you a few months ago, my ebay name is love4coins. :) I don't know what they are yet, just that 5 are nickel, 8 are silver (I assumed Sterling but at least not nickel) I didn't realize 1 was a Loonie, actually it's a Toonie. One of the other pictures I can see that it says 2 Dollars on the face. According to the listing here is what I should be expecting: Silver: 1971, 1974, 1975, 1976, 1978, 1981, 1982, 1983, 1987. Nickel: 1970, 1971, 1972, 1982, 1995. He is a Canadian seller that I've bought from a few times in the past and have always been very pleased with my purchases, as I was happy with my purchase from silverwolf. :) |

OK, my bad, I guess my ignorance is showing but the gold colored coin in my photo is indeed a Loonie, not a Toonie. What I thought was a "2" was actually the small Canada flag between the words Canada and Dollar. Regardless, I got 14 Canada Dollars, I guess the Loonie is one of the "nickel" dollars. Nice set of coins for the price I paid. Next time I'll have to shop in Stacy's store.

Ok you guys said to post more pictures and you'll help me figure out what I have. I'm able to figure out most of them but can you tell me if this coin is silver or nickel? Does it come in both versions? I've seen 2 different version of the BC 1871-1971 dollar, one says British Columbia across the top above some flowers, this is the other version. Is one version silver and one nickel? My black plastic frame doesn't say anything on it. Thanks!  Edited by D-Train

What you have there is the silver version (50% silver,50% copper)
of the 1971 British Columbia Centennial Dollar.
The other version with British Columbia on top was meant
for circulation and was 100% Nickel.

Thanks JimmyD! I guess that answers another question I had. If the flocking inside the clamshell case is blue I assumed that meant nickel, and red flocking meant the coin was silver. I guess that's not the case. Here in the USA if you buy a proof set in blue packaging it's the clad series, it the packaging is red then it's the silver version. I thought maybe Canada did the same thing but it seems not. Thanks again .

That would make it too easy. Sometimes the RCM will change the colour from year to year. |

Traded some non coin memorabilia for some Graded Canada Dollars. Showed this one in another thread but I will show it here too. Spots are on the ICCS plastic  Just shot photos of this next one. The plastic is so spotted up I am thinking about setting this one free.   The next 3 coins were not part of the trade...but rather showed up with the 2 above as a bonus.     These are my 1st silver Canada Dollars as well as my 1st coins graded by ICCS. With the addition of this 1926 Canada Nickel, I am now only missing the 1925 and 2018 to make a complete 1922-2018 Canada Nickel Date Set. Edited by MontCollector
