Thanks everyone. I've been looking for a nice 1952 for quite a while now so this one fits the bill. I haven't seen many 1952's in MS65 in general so this was a must-have.

It's the first one I've seen as well, lewy. I came across it while I was browsing ebay. The Canadian mint uses the same procedure as the US Mint. They tumble the planchets in a media consisting of thousands of tiny steel beads. Generally the Ottawa facility produces specialty coins for collectors and the Winnipeg facility produces coins for circulation. But in this instance the burnished Maple Leaf are produced at the Winnipeg facility so they can use the W mint mark like the burnished Silver Eagles. |
