denny7000, can you post a better photo of that 1965 sealed PL Type 1 penny you picked up (you showed it on the previous page of this thread)? Specifically, a close-up of the 5?

Here are those two sealed 1965s , small beads for sure, the 5s I'm not sure about.

Thanks. Both are blunt 5s. The PL Pointed 5 is a numismatic white whale...

I only bought them because they were sealed singles and 50 cents each.
I've just found a few rolls of BU 1965 pennies my father put away, he has given me a lot to look through.

I didn't want to hijack the topic here, I was just curious about the 1965 cent as well, and was going to ask if I could see any pictures (which now we all have). Like SPP, I believe the type 1 1965 (EDIT: type 1 in a PL finish)is a unicorn (despite the erroneous ICCS pop numbers), but I never stop looking!

This is the latest addition to my SP collection. It has a nice golden tone to it. I put a piece of white paper in the corner of the obverse shot to see the difference.

Nice problem to have Denny. Sounds fun having a bunch of silver to pour over, checking for varieties. Yes the PL Goose was ebay, I like the mirror fields and cameo, and the other 50 cent 1965 I got from a dealer on sale half price. Happy hunting.
