I would definty leave them in the wrapper if you bought them from the mint. it seem like sometimes that with the so called mint wrapping that the roll sell beter then bank rolls. so if you are looking for investment perposes then leave wrapped. if you are just looking for single buy rolls from the bank. unless you can not find them in your area then do what ever makes you happy. remeber coin collecting is for you not for others. so what one says is to much of a premium to pay for other it may not plus you know you will be getting the mint marks you need that way.

i think they charge more b/c you know which mint you're getting as well. I have a few rolls from a few banks, and I have no idea which mint they are from. I have opened one and they were D, but is it safe to assume the others are as well?

I agree with Bruce!
Thomas, I notice you are from Texas. If that's where you got the rolls, it's likely that they will all be Denver mint.

Actually Greg, I was thinking the same thing, but that is not the case. If you place one order with multiple items, and some get back-ordered, they will charge you shipping on the first thing that they send to you, and that's it!!. You should not get charged for any of the BO items. I know that I never have. But like I said, I think this is only if you placed the order all at once.

Actually, I have no problem getting the pressies from the bank. Two of my branches carry the coins. I was just letting you know that on my orders from the mint in the past, if something was back ordered out of one order, I was only billed once for shipping, and that was the for the fist shipment. All back ordered items I was only charged the price of the coin.

The mint gets more for the "mint wrapped" rolls because people are willing to pay it.
I always thought there was a quality difference between the mint wrapped and bank wrapped rolls, thought the mint wrapped happened at the mint while the others were bagged and shipped to the 3rd party rollers (see the wrapper...String & Co.on the orange banded ones)...now that I have bought lots of mint rolls I am reluctantly giving up that illusion...
Still there are people out there that think that way and will pay more for a mint wrapped roll under the delusion that the other rolls may have been "searched" by someone prior to rolling.
