Well I know the answer to this question. I was looking for a decent coin of him, they are very few and far between. This guy was a real turncoat! His buddy and his ex-bromance are both buddies (ugh coins)of mine. Lets see how good you guys are? Here is the obverse from the listing, notice the face ! He asks who am I? Where am I from, and when did I live? Who were my two "friends"? This might be a real challenge for some, for others its just another coin in the sleeve. AE 15.8g x 26.5mm XF+ for the type (IMHO) c. I just bought this for under $30USD. I am soo pumped I almost spent 2x that for one 0.25 times as nice!

No he was not spanish...getting warm though! There is a famous wood cut of Scipio visiting him on his death bed...he was an old man, he commanded his troops even into his elder years! ( it was either a wood cut or a painting cant remember)

It's a coin from the Kings of Numidia, Massinissa or Micipsa, with a horse on reverse  |

Dionysos beat me to it. Masinissa (c. 240 or 238 BC - c. 148 BC) â€" also spelled Massinissa and Massena â€" was the first King of Numidia, an ancient North African kingdom. As a successful general, Masinissa fought in the Second Punic War - (218-201 BC), first against the Roman Republic an ally of Carthage and later switching sides when he saw which way the conflict was going.  |

All I know is I have had mine since 1993 and have it listed as Micipsa (son of Masanissa) Sear 6597.  |
