After reading this thread, I, first, think that the OP was a shill for AJPM, as he is from Portland as are they and this was his only interaction with our site- a question then plug for AJPM. The site japper reviews also read as if the majority of the positive reviews were done by employees- the negative reviews give specifics of problems, the positive reviews just give glowing but non specific accolades.

I immediately suspected some shilling going on (pun intended). When the OP never responded to my link to negative reviews, I took that as confirmation. It was very . . . amusing.

Well, if he was a shill for AJPM, he succeeded in generating some very negative publicity for his site and probably lost some sales from people who might otherwise have been interested.

Way to go!

I was looking for a place to buy gold, came across golddealer.com. I am in LA, so I can go and buy from there. They also advertise free shipping for $2000 and above orders. Does anyone here has any experience in buying from them, either in store or online? They sell PAMP bars at spot + 30 which I feel is a great price. Anyone know any other place in LA area where I can buy gold bar?

I have found APMEX, Gainesville and Westminster Mint to be the most reliable. I mainly buy silver rounds. APMEX and Westminster have a good selection.

I've used APMEX several times but never cared for their high shipping costs. I try to buy locally but when I have to use the net I like Gainesville in Florida.

APMEX is local to me, but sadly they charge sales tax if I buy from them. Out of state dealers do not.

So sorry I missed this. Although I am far from Los Angeles, I've ordered bullion from golddealer AKA California Numismatic Investments(CNI) for years without any problems. My last purchase from CNI was some Perth Mint Platypus coins back in August when Platinum took a big dip :) Their prices are almost always cheaper than APMEX and I've never had any problems with them. I like getting my bulk silver from them in particular. I'd get a "mini monster box" of 200 coins in sheets every year up until 2009, and the boxes were directly from the mint, sealed, just like Monster Boxes are nowadays.

Never heard of them, but after one glance at their site they seem new and small, but a solid place to get solid deals perhaps. I first search 10 oz. silver bars, and they have NTRs at 305 plus freight, not bad at all....

They EVEN list their buy price which was 297 and change for the NTRsm that 1st class IMO and the first I have seen of such information given....
