Basing that on seeing a dealer make a fake bar ring like solid silver and at the same time not being able to get a ping out of a pure silver RCM 100oz.

Even if I saw that myself I wouldn't necessarily believe it... certaintly not without: A) solid confirmation that the 'pingless' silver bar was in fact all pure 100% silver B) detailed information on exactly how the fake bar wasn't genuine (lead filled, less pure alloy, etc.). Still, I think we agree that it's always a good idea to make sure any bullion you buy is as advertised. What method of testing silver for authenticity do you consider the most reliable?

I assume we are looking for the quick and dirty as oppose to the absolutely most reliable. If the latter, drill holes + acid test. For doing a quick assessment I use density + visual. If the bar questioned is the exact dimension as a real one, it should weigh the same.

You can bank on getting 480-525 at today's price.....and if you are little bit patient, probably get around 550-575. Personally I want to say $320 and buy it from you.... Cant do that though...too honest. I've been wanting a 10oz RCM bar for a long time now because I like them and am patriotic...almost wish you would trade me for it. I would send you a PM but your e-mail through CCF is turned off. You mentioned he had more than 1.
