@realmoney

I wont debate or discuss anything of that sort with you because its irrelevant to me.

Again let me repeat- this is what the market place has set in place. You are free to believe what you wish and how you think. For me tho, I will abide by what what the market DOES and not what I think.

I think you really are missing the whole point, in fact it almost sounds like you are angry and mad at the US, as if you are just hoping that there is some sort of economic disaster so you can gloat. Please tell me I am wrong.

I do want to point out that you are wrong about ratings down grades. Several of the ratings agencies did downgrade US debt or have you decided to conveniently decided omit that? Furthermore, since you are going on about supposed conspiracy theories, tell me, who owns these rating agencies, can you truly say they are afraid of the US?

I do not get offended easily, but you are close here. I have had ancestors fight the British to give freedom to this land. I am not angry at the US. For the most part everyone who lives here wants peace, safety, and wealth on our shore. I am sorry if you think I am an egotistical maniac that wants death and destruction just so I can say 'I told you so.'

My intentions are much more pure. All I am saying (and have said) is that the dollar will collapse. It must collapse. I like having conversations on the economy and spread ideas of real money.

I do hope that we could unwind from this dollar system that has enslaved the nation slowly and less dramitcally. Unfortunately, I think we are passed this point. I hope that I am wrong on this point.

Little known fact: The CIA created the term Conspiracy Theory to discredit people who disagree with the federal government. We should know why we use the words we say, especially when they are used to discredit any of one's opinions.

After a quick google search, here is the first result (so there is no favoritism of facts on my part). http://townhall.com/columnists/neil...35/page/full

If you notice, the article cites the original story is from the NY Times. I guess even our wonderful mainstream media is publishing conspiracy theories.

I hope that we can keep these debates civil and not use slanderous language again. I come from a family that has fought in nearly every war for these United States. I do not question your integrity, please do not question mine again.

Sorry but when you go on about a dollar collapse and saying it must collapse then you are betting against the USA.

So I have a hard time believing that you are sincere and dont wish bad things to happen, it just doesn't make sense to me as I still feel you wish to see the USA fall apart and collaspe.

In anycase, feel free to believe in what you wish too. My main objective is to make money off trends, not waste time on what could happen or what will happen based on opinions that are subjective and have no truthful backing to them.

I believe in what the markets do, not what others feel must happen based on their faulty reasoning or opinions.

BTW, I am not debating you nor interested in debating and furthermore, I dont want to debate you as it is clear you wish to believe things that are far fetched and very silly. What the markets decide is not open to debate; how they act and what they do is the only thing that matters to me.

I am not betting against the USA. Actually, it is quite the opposite. When we get away from the fiat dollar system, I hope we return to sound monetary policies that do not enslave future generations.

The USA and the dollar are two different things. I can believe one of them to be corrupt and dangerous to humanity as a whole. I can believe the other to stand for freedom and liberty. The two can be mutually exclusive.

But, none of these are my opinions, but are facts. Every fiat currency in the history of the world has went to zero! It has nothing with what I want or what I believe. It just is.

Again, I will not question your motives, desires, or integrity. I would appreciate if you respected my wishes to to be treated the same. You know,'do unto others as you would have them do unto you.'

Sorry Yup, I do not see how it is political to talk about the dollar. But anyway, I will respect your wishes and not discuss it with you moving forward. I wish you well in everything you do!

I was hoping for some charts this week, after Yellen spoke to D.C. o well.

Silver and Gold are the best money can buy. Silver is a steal of a deal that will keep getting lower in price that is great.

King Dollar is a term used in the 80's and early 90's. The dollar is no longer the King Dollar if anything its the Credit Dollar or Ding Dollar. Silver and Gold are what a person/a business buys and keeps when the world nations decide to turn their backs on the Ding Dollar.

Any person that fails to do so will be at the feet of this government not a great wild card to pull out in times of need. Silver/Gold are the best for a person and business to walk away uninfected by the back wash of a careless GOV.

Making money off Silver/Gold which I think this thread is all about. Bad idea, not really what Silver/Gold are for. It can happen,it does happen but not the core idea behind buying the 2 metals.

I personally think the week to week trading is now at 2008 levels with either sideways or down trend, how low will it go about to 2005-06 levels. I think its not much of a guessing game for Silver or Gold. Buy it and hold pretty easy.

Pretty sure Yup will drive this thread till Silver/Gold hit the lowest point, some where around 2005 levels. Then stick to do not buy it bad investment but they are not investment anymore. They are a safe haven for the Credit Dollar.

So it looks like silver ended the week at $16.57, range bound and choppy (did I get that right? ).

Would be interested in fresh charts to see the HOD/LOD info.

@woodywood - Regarding Apple, I think it's an interesting question and encourage you to make a thread about it. I don't imagine that Yup will have an opinion on this topic nor do I think it's particularly relevant to this thread.

From Yup's original post:

Quote:
I adhere to the school that the market is ALWAYS right and opinions are always WRONG. The price action and markets will in the end decide where all asset prices end up at and I respect that.

Finally, let me state that I do not make predictions in prices as a trader, and especially with PMs. Its a fools game, and again, what I look for is the trend, the PATH OF LEAST RESISTANCE.

This thread is about charting a direction based on price and price alone. The theoretical why's and how's are not relevant to this type of analysis.

This thread is two years old.
Gold and silver have continued downward in value ever since.
I blame this thread.

couple of replies here-

Hi Woodywood, I highly doubt it. Why? I dont see any evidence in the price action to say aapl, even if they were buying, brought the price up. IF that was true, that sort of massive buying would have "left foot prints" verified by:

1- heavy volume

2- sustained buying day after day that would have broken the downtrend quickly and immediately.

None of that is evident. On top of it..... aapl would have to be smart about how these did these purchases and it would mean buying quietly but at those supposed amounts, on the open market, it would be very difficult to hide and the price would drive up higher causing the market to pay close attention via price. We did not see that at all.

Finally, aapl, if this was true, would not be leaking or releasing info about how much gold they need and risk seeing prices run higher on them. Instead, they would make preparations months if not a year or more ahead, as companies plan for products years and many months in advance.

In case you missed it, see this great thread with more thoughts https://goccf.com/t/200751

@Silverworld11 - I am sorry but I cant understand what you are saying... man you sure do remind me of Cosmos,, or was it spelled Kosmos... I will look back on the threads...

@devilsbite- Yes you are right, pretty much so for this week just choppy range bound trade, both silver and gold were up for the week but marginally. Kinda of a ho-hum week.

You are also absolutely right that this thread is more a discussion about price action. Sure, I could go on and wax poetically about why it happened, or why it could or might do, but it just doesn't pay and is almost always wrong.

The "how" and "why" always manifest themselves AFTER the move has been completed.

As an example, AAPL broke out to new fresh 52 highs several weeks ago. There really was no news at all. However in the coming weeks after its march higher in price, all sorts of news came out in regards to new products and also there was a note I believe of reblancing of shares being added. All of this came AFTER aapl made a 12 point move high. As usual, the stock started moving FIRST, before the news.

So what would you rather have? Pay attention to price and benefit that way, ahead of everyone OR watch a 12 pt move happen in front of you with no material benefit?

Therefore, the answer to what happens with gold and silver is in the price action. Anyone who says they ignore it clearly will be clueless as to what is really happening.

Ill have charts up this weekend and discussion of price action.

Now I understand what you were saying Yup, after reading the past few posts. You only care about the price action and not the why's and how's.

It has been a boring week for silver, which I don't mind so much.
