Ok just a quick update-
prices continue to push lower, no real shock. I think looking forward-
gold- looking for it to stay sub 1300 as that has been breached multiple times, looking for a range first, I am looking for as much as 1250 on the low end for now.
silver- breached 20, staying sub 20. I would look for a range also, with a range on the lower end of 15.
You should not be buying today, you will not beat this strong downtrend. If you must buy, only nibble and at that wait for another flush tomorrow.

And of course, dont forget to keep an eye on spot price vs actual sale price as premiums may jump.

Yea I agree with Baseball, sell into it and market it up. I hate to say that, but people, for whatever reason that I don't get, think massive selling in PMs means you pay up... which why you would pay up when prices are dropping is beyond me......
tho I seem to think, because of this fact, until this obsession or mental issue corrects itself regarding lower drops in metals means you rush out and buy gold and silver, prices will continue to drop, drop and drop on those rushing out thinking that they have to buy each and every single dip until everyone is exasperated and gives in and stops buying. Then maybe that also will help in things finally trying to bottom out.

Gonna be interesting to see if there's another big or even bigger drop this Friday, the same way it dropped back in April over two days,a although granted that one was over the weekend.

Well the Sydney and Hong Kong markets have opened and silver is still falling. Down to 19.41 right now.

Its kind of cheating now that the other markets are opened, but I was going to say my guess is it will keep falling through the weekend like last time since the move was fairly significant

The futures markets pretty much are open 24/7 for gold and silver. Asia doesn't carry the torch so to speak. These are futures based off whats going on at the CME, where the entire globe comes to trade.
So what is happening in Sidney, Hong Kong, which I made add DO NOT impact world markets because they are sooooo small, is not because they are selling it but rather the futures markets continues to keep moving along, in this case they are continuing to sell off gold and silver.
Furthermore, this selling is typical and should be expected. The downtrend is playing out as it should.
Futures are going off globex futures traded at the CME, not any Asian markets.

We got our fireworks finally and at long last, snapped out of the range and without question all the confirmation we were getting, such as gold and silver not being able to fill the gap from 4/15, failing repeatedly and the many times that gold and silver probed their yearly lows, was validated with a move lower today.
Did you notice also- there were repeated attempts to probe the lower yearly range and they seemed to hold. There was a lot of talk about how the COT was saying a major squeeze was on its way. There was talk that a "double bottom" was in place. However, in the end, the price action was the ultimate decision maker, and it was saying gold and silver were not done going down yet. Sure enough, gold and silver continued their move lower.
So are we done going down? Is it all clear? What if we get a rebound tomorrow does that mean we got our flush?
At this stage, as I always stress, we need to take everything by levels. The levels remain the same for now, gold looking for a range after 1300 is breached (which it was) to a move on the lower end to 1250. Silver with the breach of 20, lower end towards 15.
These are targets for the short term. It will have to be seen if these hold. They could hold, they may not hold. Only time will tell. However, with a strong trend, as I have noted before, there is nothing to say that gold and silver hit their previous all time lows. We just don't know that for now.
What we do know is for gold and silver to reverse course, it will take a lot of buying, buying, and buying and it will have to be done with authority, and that authority is represented by volume. That's going to be very difficult as gold and silver have suffered a lot of technical damage and all these ranges of price and gaps will have to be filled before they advance.
Also going forward there should be no surprise if we see retracements. That happens all the time. Again, filling the gap is key. Not only does gold and silver have recorded in its price memory the gap from 4/15, it now has the gap from today to deal with.
Looking at our proxies
GLD- a gap lower
SLV- a gap lower
One interesting thing to note is the heavier volume on SLV compared to GLD. In fact GLD had much less volume than before so we'll see how that impacts things.
Remember, there is no rush at all to go and buy silver and gold right here, right now. Continue to hold off.if you can, remember you don't want to run out and buy and then find out days later you are underwater.
Finally, should we bounce tomorrow, it will only prolong the downtrend and will only help to make the moves lower even more vicious and faster, so be very careful out there.

I have stocked up on some cheap vintage JM ten ouncers, and a nice 1/10th Gold JM as well. I knew when I bought them that the PM value could drop, but since JM vintage bars are collectable, and the price tends to disregard the spot trends, I thought it was a safe "nibble". They store easier in the safety deposit box than coins also.

Bite!, not nibble, you're now in an all you can eat buffet. $19.99 an oz is just silly and so cheap.

Buying silver and gold at these prices is reckless and very unwise. One can say "oh I plan on holding for 20 years" but one doesn't know whats going to happen for 20 years, circumstances change and you might need to cash those coins in and you could still be underwater.
IF one is buying coins for investment or hedging, buying right is very important. Any purchase that shows a loss from the start will end badly.
I am positive, behind the scenes, behind closed doors and in private conversations, folks who have been buying gold and silver from even the last two years steady, are underwater big time and they probably continue to add at these levels, only to see their purchases sink even more. Even more will be lamenting how they wished they had sold even at half from where they purchased.
That cannot be a good feeling and then not knowing if silver and gold will or when they will come back to their historical highs. It could be decades before they even come back.
Sure, its easy to say that you are holding long term. But how good can it feel, if you look at the thread here regarding sharing your latest purchase, and you look at those threads and you see folks who were buying at 42, 46, mid 30s levels for silver, is it really a great deal that what they purchases is now 20, 15 dollars underwater?
Finally, remember what is cheap becomes cheaper.
