I will pass on both subscriptions. No real value here especially the F15 series. 2 to 3 times the value of putting my own set together. The F15 as stated earlier can be purchased on ebay as well as the other coins for a significantly lower price.

Since the 2013 F15 sml won't be shipped until May, anybody know if their credit card was charged right after placing their order? Tia

I passed on the gold subscription. Looks like a resell and not an RCM product to me. Subscribed to the silver but will cancel after I get the SML (hopefully it will be first as stated). I'm still working on the 2012 set which I intend to complete just to have one full set, but I've only picked up the privy marked SMLs (and a few Kangaroos) from all the other years.

@Mrpiedfort - It says it's not supposed to be charged until shipped and my experience is that generally that is correct. I ordered a couple of days ago and haven't seen a charge go through yet. But it's the weekend so that may be meaningless.

I forget the terminology but the Mint charges your credit card after placing an order, then after a certain number of days, the funds become available again until the time they actually ship the coin. I suppose it is to check if your credit card has enough funds for the purchase?

That's exactly correct, the mint does not actually charge the card until the item ships. They will put a pending charge as mentioned above.

The mint will do a preauthorized payment to confirm your credit card is valid and has sufficient funds available. Your credit card will only be charged when the item(s) is/are ready to ship?

A half gram of gold for $90? I like the mint's optimism. I think the vast majority of those who buy into this series will be disappointed with what they receive. Gold coins smaller than 1/10th ounce are inconsequential, and merely exist to sell to gullible "investors" who think mint products appreciate.

The fact that the added bonus for the subscription is a magnifying glass is telling!

the magnifying glass should be built into the display case,so you can actually see the coins.
