I just came back from the coin exchange. I arrived early and was the fourth person in line. By the time I had completed my exchange, the line was 50 people (or more deep)
There are no restrictions (within limits of course). I managed to get 2 rolls of the toonies, and four rolls of each of the other quarters. You can also exchange for loose quarters as well if you don't want to break a roll. I was able to exchange $2 worth of each quarter. I'm not sure if you asked for more whether they'd permit it or not. They also have an assortment of handouts which are great for kids.
I was told the new Laura Secord coin will be released sometime in June.

Quote: They only accept cash? What's the limit on the exchange? Can we exchange $100 for it :D And where exactly is the First Canadian Place "Community Corner"? Forgot to mention, it's strict cash exchange. The community corner is just opposite Tip Top Tailors. If you're coming from the subway, go to St. Andrew station and walk towards the Sunlife Building. Go straight, past the food court and the Longos and you'll come upon an open court. That's where the Community Corner is. You can't miss it

Cookiecutter, you said you bought two rolls of toonies. Could you have purchased them singly, or do you have to buy them in rolls?

Rob,
They had all the coins available for purchase in singles or in rolls, including the toonies. You could buy what you needed.

I forgot to mention they also had the cardboard coin collector cards as well.

Excellent! Thanks so much, Cookiecutter. Now I just have to hope the Winnipeg event will feature the same selection! Starting to get excited.

Canadian Coin and Currency already has the new quarters pack as a pre-sale, for 3.95 and shipping: 25c 2013 - Heroes of 1812 - Charles Michel de Salaberry - 10 pack http://www.cdncoin.com/product-p/120054.htmFor sure it better to wait for Apr 09-th release by RCM, but for those who wants more and anyway planed to buy something from Canadian Coins.

I was there really early too and was 2nd in line only because I didn't want to miss my train home. I didn't need to worry though because it was quick - slapped down $90 and got a roll of toonies, 2 de Salaberry and 2 Tecumseh. I was able to get the Brock quarters by the roll at the bank when they came out but no banks had the Tecumseh quarters. I figured I better stock up now. I was told that when Laura Secord comes out in June they'll have another booth set up to exchange coins.

Jodew71 - Were you the one with the red rolling luggage? I believe you told me where I could get more collector cards. I was the one with the black hat with purple flower

i was there too, around 1pm. the line was extremely long. I was a bit worried that they might be 'sold out' of certain coins. Lucky, I was able to get a roll of each.

The Montreal version was pretty quiet then. Went back today to pick up 10 cards and another Shannon roll. Less than 10 people in 3 lines each - moved pretty quick too. Gave the girl behind the counter a break and just took 10 sets of coins for the cards. I think she was getting tired of popping in quarters and Twoonies into those 1812 cards.
Hope the road-show comes back in June when the Secord quarters re released.

I was at the Toronto coin exchange as well. If you remember the tallest guy in line, about 10 people deep in line, that was me. :)

I was there at 11:20. The line up was long and only got longer as I moved up. A group in front of me bought a roll to split among themselves just to get out of the line. It was a lot of fun.
