CrazyCoinGuy, That is by far the best introductory post Congratulations!
It's not often I see the same kind of brinks paper rolls that I get here in Oklahoma. My best score was a box with the same wrappers. I get tons of skunks but when I do get silver, they are usually good scores. Where do you live? You don't have to be specific but can you tell us which state you live in?
Thanks for sharing!

Owasso... I don't really want to encourage any roll hunters in my area that might have slowed down or stopped. Let's just say that could have easily been your box! (Within 150 miles of you)

I tried to msg you but you're not receiving emails.
Did some of the coins have scratched/polished marks on the obverse?
People may jump back in the game but they better be prepared for a bunch of blanks if they are in our area. Nothing has changed. It's long runs of skunks with the occasional really good box. I used to up my number of boxes "when the silver got hot" but it never works in our market. I just ended up taking a bunch of the skunk boxes. I'm now convinced that there's a better chance that the new blood is removing a skunk box as there is them taking the good box. I just keep it steady now. I have the patience to wait (usually), as long as I can live vicariously through my CCF friends :)
Congrats again.

That's an awesome score! Can you tell us what type of institution? National bank branch, local bank, credit union? Did you have the rolls ordered or were they sitting in the vault already?

People seem interested in a little more info so I'll give some....
I really think (and have thought since I started reading this board) that people look for patterns or trends where none exist. I basically just got lucky.
The bank is a regional bank that I get 2 boxes from each week. They obviously use Brinks for their coin. This is the only banking system in my area that I order from that I actually get rolled coin in boxes. I get $1,000 bags from all the other banks I have ordered from.
I have been to every bank in my area and I am pretty sure all "old" CWR have been cleaned out long ago.
My success rate from these boxes really has not been that good. Average is about 1 silver per box, excluding the big find in this post. I'm perfectly fine with 1 per by the way.
I have actually had better luck from the bags, but again I don't think any of this matters. I really believe that at this point I only get silver when someone puts coin through a coin counter which I then get in bags or boxes. This area has been searched thoroughly as I see many searchers marks and judging by the number of halves I've seen with the same marks it's obvious there are 3 or 4 hardcore hunters in my area.
Wife and I have speculated a lot about this score. "Maybe grandpa died and someone just took all his coins to the coin counter", honestly I think there's a good chance that big scores are possibly stolen coin that thieves just cash in. A sad reality but a likely one.
No pics of the 90% from the other box, there were all (except maybe one Franklin) junk silver. (Man I hate that term.)
By the way my wife started calling me crazy coin guy as for a while I was really going hardcore. I've slowed down to about $1,500 a week on average in halves and a box of dimes and/or nickels. The best part is after this... she doesn't think I'm crazy any more!
