Do gloves really matter for bullion grade 22K gold coins? This isn't proof grade.

Gloves for bullion would be just a tad over the top alright. Still best to only hold it by the edge between fingers though to keep the old human sweat from ruining it's pristine condition not only from an aesthetic point of view but also from any potential resale pov (some like their more recently produced shiny to be as perfect as possible).

Congrats on the pickup, careful you don't get bitten by the bug though as I've known it happen to quite a few lol.

If you're buying silver coins then you need to get a pair of gloves. Gold won't tarnish if you handle it with bare hands but silver most definitely will.

Congrats on the purchase of your first gold coin. Won't be long before you'll be thinking about buying more of those little yellow beauties.
