t360, please pass along my sincerest apologies to Rebecca and I hope she wasn't grossed out too much. It's a tough world we're in and she and her generation must reap what we have sown although it's not always a pretty sight.

If she really likes toned Morgans, I recommend she shift a little toward regular or lightly toned Morgans since far too often, toned Morgans (especially extremely toned Morgans) are used to cover up defects. As a Morganphile (hence username "Morgan Fred") with a passable collection of Morgans (my forte is Carson City Morgans), I've been burned a few times too many by toned Morgans. Nevertheless, Lady Liberty is my favorite coin!

Ask Rebecca to ask Metalman (Rick) about his 1888-O Morgan. Rick is a good and very trusted friend (and fellow moderator from whom I have learned much) and he will be more than pleased to offer information on Morgans. In fact, there's a whole bunch of us Morgan nuts on the forum such as SuperDave, Bryan, Tpatna, and a lot more who would be very happy to give her advice on Morgans.

All of us are eager to help young numismatists and it sounds like you got her off in the right direction with Morgans. Feedback-Forum?

There is really no wrong way to collect as long as the coin is liked by the one who collects it !!
