"I think physical money will be phased out in our lifetime "
we cant even get rid of the $1 bill or penny, so respectfully imo no way americans in our lifetime would ever allow that to happen.

Yeah I think America will last a fair bit longer with CRHing. Not to add to the downer but I always have been jealous of the fact that you can get some old coins in the states still in circulation. For canadian pennies(when they were circulating) you could never get anything older than 1920's as they penny was larger and the same for the 5 cent piece in Canada.(except it was smaller) We never really can get easy access to halves and even if we could again, the silver halves were larger than the non silver halves.

On that note it looks like I need to return my hoard of pennies and nickels to the bank as well as American pennies. Some unfortunate financial circumstances came up. I much rather someone who wants them and appreciates them get them than the poor things get metled. Off the top of my head they would be from 1964 and more recent. I would have checked them for major rare varieties but not minor ones, ie hanging three's and the like. I have them sorted already. Still in the process of rolling them. I would only be getting fave value at the bank so that's fine by me...if anyone wants to give me more, great, if not like I said at least they'll be appreciated. I live in Sudbury but travel to Toronto once in a while. As long as I don't have to go out of my way I'm ok. With dropping them off or meeting up somewhere.

The American pennies would be all excpet wheaties. Never checked for errors as I'm un familiar with American errors. They are not sorted for the most part either.

Send me an email if interested.

Since pennies are now gone, I would just hoard them all. Eventually they'll be worth SOMETHING.

Assuming we have a choice.

That is horrible, the teller taking the silver from under your nose. Totally wrong! I always say that would be like me owning a restaurant, and a customer orders the most expensive steak; when it comes to the table to be served, I as the owner see it, decide I want it, take it to my own table and eat it, right in front of the customer who ordered it.
