Ah....... I think you lost me now. I see nothing suspect. Even at 300% I don't see it.

The coin is 'good' but it has been improved by smoothing and scraping/

Which is why I have changed my opinion from 50/50 to most very likely quite genuine (with tooling and smoothing)

The only question now is if you can live with that. Some 'high grade' buyers will buy it and some 'purist' type buyers won't.
You need decide which type you are !

I like the coin even though it has been "improved".

Yes its difficult to decide, its a beautiful coin and if I dont like it, I suppose I can still sell it for at least the sales price of 140 dollars?

Never 'suppose' anything. If you want to sell it you need list it and find out if anyone will buy it ! Just because you were willing to bite the hook doesn't guarantee anyone else will. Besides if you go to sell it there are almost always costs involved. If you have doubt you need remember that there exist thousands of examples of this coin in dealer inventories and private collections. Never mind any being found in the fields of Europe by weekend warriors out and about metal detecting. If you have doubt don't do it. At $140 it isn't being given away.
