I found it hard to sell gold too... I think if you wanna invest in gold you need to hold it for a long time so it goes up (hopefully) significantly. Then you can sell it without worrying too much about losing money... But if it goes up... you never know...

Sell it to APMEX, check their buy and sell price, I think it is a very fair price. Registered Mail with declared amount.
