After a 5 minute immersion in liquid nitrogen @-197.3C (-323F) the nickel was unfazed. I threw it at a concrete floor a few times with no effect. I then gave it a good whack with a pipe wrench which resulted in the nasty rim ding

but the planchet held up to the short term exposure. I might try repeating this sometime with an overnight immersion and dropping onto concrete from 20+ feet.
