ozcoins Pillar of the Community Australia 1005 Posts	Posted 09/26/2014 5:19 pm The "tear" in the bag is a cut which is put into all the bags to make them easier to open. It is not a sign of tampering and you can not get coins into our out of the bag via that cut. However there are several ways I can think of to tamper with bags. The coin COULD be a legitimate error from the mint. OR It could have been tampered with (eg acetoned and re-released) Unfortunately, I cannot think of any way to tell the difference.
