@Electrum: Thanks for the updates!
Quick question: Is the Canadian Flag the theme for the annual commemorative silver dollar? (Your comment about the fine silver proof set leads me to believe that it might be.)
Thanks!

Thanks silveroid Further info for you all... Spoke to another chap from Ottawa here tonight- We can expect a lot more of superman and even more pop culture themes... He couldn't or wouldn't be more elaborate - Unfortunately from my perspective - he also advised that we should also expect more somewhat non-Canadiana themes - which is evident here tonight with the dual themed unesco world heritage coin commemorating both a Canadian and none Canadian site... I suppose they want to pull in more varied minded customers but I cautioned the chap that in return you may lose some hard core fans of the mint...

@Electrum: Thanks for the response re: the annual silver dollar. Quote: he also advised that we should also expect more somewhat non-Canadiana themes Uh oh! That sounds more like the business model of a private mint producing coins on contract vs. a country's national mint! I'm glad I'm focused on RCM issues that mark important aspects of Canada's history. That should keep my wallet relatively safe!

Thanks for all the updates Electrum. Looks like the only thing I missed was your company and that glass of wine. Another event in March sounds good. Would like the opportunity to meet other MC members.
